Text: John 2:5, Gen 22:18

Ever bought an electronic device or gadget?(smart phones,Tv, refrigerator..etc) there is always a manual that comes with it right? following those instructions meticulously is what guarantees a proper function of that device.when you do otherwise,it may destroy the device or probably delay it ability to work effectively .this same is applicable to our spiritual life. God has given us a manual (The bible)for we to follow the instructions therein and do what it says!! for our expectations to come pass. that process is simply called OBEDIENCE. Obedience is a total submission and willingness to comply with commands, orders and instructions without complains or grumbling.

WHAT HAS GOD INSTRUCTED US TO OBEY AS BELIEVERS?

1. Right living till Christ comes (Eze 18:24).as Christians,we must live a righteous life both in the secret and in the open (mat 7:21-24).when you stop,the blessings that flows with the obedience to this stops.

2. Service in God’s vine yard (John 15: 1-2). often time believers think they can achieve so much through just being a member of a church or spiritual gathering. it is your obedience to the commitment in serving in God’s kingdom that attract supernatural breakthroughs (Exo. 23:25).we need to sow a seed of relentless service to God by joining a service unit (department) where you worship.
(Psalm 92:13-14). your service could be rendered through your skills or resources.

3.Soul winning for the kingdom (pro. 11;30). Paul was a vehement soul winner (2tim 4:8-14) he went around witnessing to both great and small,young and old (act 26:22) we as believers were not save to just be self righteous nd embrace Christ alone buh to go out and also share the good news (John 15:16) because God delights greatly in this(pro.14:28) ,they are people out there still drowning in their old ways when we obey and win them to Christ (2corin 5:17-19).there are always blessings attached to it.

4. Be committed to the obedience to God’s word as a lifestyle (jer.15:16).”there must be a searching before a finding”,study till you encounter your desired light then obey every instructions therein and do it!!the blessings of God does not answer to preachers, hearers or readers but Doers!!(James 1:22-24)

5. Praying kingdom advancement prayer is every believers life long responsibility (luke 2: 36).kingdom advancement sacrifice,prayer service, stewardship has no expiring date(1tess 5:17). consistently pray for the expansion of church growth.

obedience may be costly but the end result is priceless(Deuteronomy 28:1-12,14-66). you can’t enter the the swap of blessings without passing the test of obedience.these are mysteries that great men discovered that changed their lives forever.when you obey God’s instructions as a seed, it becomes an impact on your coming Generation like Abraham. every star has a scar.the scar of tirelessly obedient to the commitment in the kingdom(jer. 33:3).if you are not ready to leave the shore u will never discover your island.so don’t let your present condition disconnect from obeying God. ask the holy spirit to guide to obedience (john 16:7-13), don’t ask why!?,don’t analyse how it will happen? or when !? just do it! .

Just has how impatient we are in waiting in bank queues for transactions, restaurants for food and interviews for a job, some christians have developed such circular habit in the things of God making their christian race frustrating. many a times we pray to God and also want to answer the prayers by going through unnecessary shortcuts. however, some waiting period are defined no matter what you do or say,it has to be on that exact timeline for example,a pregnant woman who has to wait for 9 months before delivering.
The waiting period in this context is not the absence of movement but rather is a period where you have carried out what is expected of us(accepted Jesus,studied the word,pray ,fast & evangelized)and you are still on hold.
this period as believers reminds us that no matter how wise ,rich, strong,we are not the owner of our lives (1corinthias 6;19-20).

It also reminds us that there’s a supreme being .(Deu 10:17-18)

it increases our dependency on God.(isa 41;13),(Phil. 4:13, 19).
the waiting period is not a “delay”,it is a preparation,a period where God is working on you.some key virtues that we as believers must possess are PATIENCE, HUMILITY AND FAITH. Because the devil also takes advantage of the waiting stage by frustrating your efforts with evil thoughts , counterfeit ideas, depression and comparison among our peers(Rev 12:10b).so heed not to his conversations refuse to be distracted.

STEPS TO TAKE WHILE WAITING
* Be vigilant/sensitive, don’t take any spiritual matters for granted (1peter 5:8)

*position yourself for an expectation.(Act 1: 6-14, pro.10:24)

*listen to instructions (pro.16:20-25)and prepare for the blessings (2kings 4;1-7)

*marry the Word of God.(psalm 119:105),( josh 1:8)

*keep declaring it.(job 22:28)

*keep an atmosphere of praise and joy.(pro.17:22)
In conclusion, “patience without faith equals crisis” there will be good times ,hard times but don’t allow that condition define you.it is not easy to wait..so ask the holy spirit to help you today.i pray the lord grants you peace in all ramifications of your lives. Amen
